Job Summary
Private general practice in Callahan, FL seeking an experienced certified dental assistant for head position. Mon-Thurs, 8+ hours per day. Ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of clinical experience, be familiar with digital radiography and be competent with electronic practice management software. Radiology certificate a must. Familiarity with restorative, crown & bridge, prosthetics and oral surgery required. Compensation commensurate with experience
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available.
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records for patients, including updating treatment plans and patient histories.
- Occasional management of appointment scheduling using dental software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in the dental office.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including managing inventory of dental supplies.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential.
- Familiarity with electronic patient records is highly desirable.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques is preferred.
- Experience with intra-oral and extra-oral digital dental imaging is a plus.
- Attention to detail in maintaining and interpreting dental records.
- Ability to apply aseptic techniques effectively in a clinical setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with patients and team members.
- A valid certification or diploma in Dental Assisting is mandatory.
