Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EDDA Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental professionals while ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative capabilities, making it essential for candidates to possess both technical knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures by providing chairside support, including the preparation of instruments and materials.
- Perform tasks such as taking dental radiographs (X-rays) and ensuring proper imaging protocols are followed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently, acting as a liaison between patients and the dental team.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Epic for patient management and record keeping.
- Support the front office with tasks related to medical coding, dental terminology, and reception duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a EDDA Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control practices, and four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical imaging technologies and software applications (Eaglesoft, Epic) is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and appointments.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion towards patients.
