Dentist (DMD/DDS)
Hours/week: 32-40 (open)
Location: Primarily at our Winters, CA location.
This position may require occasional coverage at our Esparto facility to help with provider coverage and patient access.
Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
We are on the lookout for a compassionate and community-minded Dentist to join our dedicated team in August 2025! The ideal candidate enjoys providing general dentistry, is comfortable with extractions, and is great with pediatric patients. We place emphasis on establishing trusting relationships while being devoted to quality health outcomes.
At Winters Healthcare, we are not a production-based clinic. We emphasize quality over quantity, averaging 8–10 patients per dentist per day to ensure each individual receives the time and care they deserve. Our practice model supports thoughtful, detailed dentistry and encourages team collaboration in a supportive and patient-centered environment.
You will join a team of four dentists, hygienists, and a Periodontist, providing care from pediatrics through geriatrics. Our team is known for its kindness, dedication, and deep commitment to improving the health and lives of our community. We’re currently booked out several months, and your role will be vital in expanding our capacity while upholding our high standard of care.
As a Dentist with Winters Healthcare, you won’t just examine and fix teeth— you will be a partner in health, supporting your patients' overall well-being . Our integrated model means you’ll work closely with our medical team, take blood pressure readings at every visit, and actively contribute to a whole-person approach to health care.
You will:
- Provide comprehensive general dentistry services, including preventative care, periodontal maintenance, and extractions.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited dental school, residency, and completion of the certification examination by the dental board of examiners.
- A permanent current full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
- Current ACLS, BLS or CPR Certification.
- Current medication dispensing license (DEA).
- Minimum two years’ experience in a private or clinical practice preferred.
- Basic Spanish terminology is required (greeting the patient & basic dental terms); Fluency is highly desired!
- Knowledge of electronic health records such as OCHIN EPIC.
- Ability and comfort building relationships with coworkers and patients

Hours:
- 32 hours / week with a proposed schedule of Tuesday 11am - 8pm, and Wednesday-Friday 8am - 5:00pm. Thursday evening is available as an alternative. An alternate evening schedule is also available, with Thursday evenings substituting for Tuesdays, if preferred.
- We are also open to part-time candidates. Note: working 24 hours or more/ week qualifies for full health insurance benefits.
Beginning June 23, 2025, Winters Healthcare will launch an organization-wide pilot program, redefining full-time status as 32 hours per week.
Expected Hire Date:
August 2025
Compensation and Benefits:
- Effective June 23, 2025 annual equivalent salary range is $162,000 - $200,000 for full-time and depends on experience and qualifications.

Dentist
Reports to : Dental Director
FLSA Status: Hourly and non-exempt
Summary of Duties :
The Dentist participates in all facets of the delivery of dental care services. The Dentist collaborates with the dental team including the Dental Director and Dental Department Manager as a partner for the operations of dental services. The Dentist will be included in the proficiency review sign off of RDAs. The Dentist’s performance is reviewed for compliance to policies, procedures, and practices related to the delivery of dental care.
Essential Functions :
- Adheres to industry standards of practice in the delivery of dental services. Examines patients, reviews past medical history, requests and/or performs/recommends dental procedures, diagnostic tests and examinations to obtain all necessary information and documents in EHR.
- Makes diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment or arranges appropriate patient referral as required and monitors follow-up care and services for timeliness.
- Provides total patient care including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services to patients as well as first aid/emergency care as appropriate.
- Develops an individualized treatment plan appropriate to each patient's current symptoms and clinical findings, including review of the patient's medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan, and patient’s own observations. Instructs and counsels patients and their families on dental issues.
- Addresses clinical issues with regard to patient satisfaction and program development.
- Identifies risk management issues and reports these to the Dental Director immediately.
- Ensures preparation of appropriate dental records for all patients seen to ensure accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive dental care.
- Prepares clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients in the event it becomes necessary for specialists or other dental/ medical care facility involved in the patient’s care.
- Collaborates with dental staff to provide effective dental care services and to assist in their professional development.
- Provide input for annual proficiency of Registered Dental Assistants (RDA).
Provide support of quality improvement and performance improvement efforts, and assist in the implementation and evaluation of related activities.

Education and Work Experience:
