Hawkswood School is searching for a full-time Speech Language Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year (beginning immediately or in September).

Hawkswood School is a private school in Eatontown, New Jersey, approved by the State of New Jersey to provide special education services and supports to students on the autism spectrum and to students with multiple disabilities, ages 3 to 21. We are committed to empowering students with disabilities to be self-expressed, self-directed, and contributing members of their families and communities. Hawkswood School runs a 12-month program.

Certification and Licensure Requirement:

NJ Department of Education certification as a Speech-Language Specialist and a NJ license as a Speech Pathologist are required.
Experience with individuals with special needs is helpful.

Responsibilities include:

Evaluate and diagnose disorders of speech and language upon referral from the sending school district.
Collaboratively prepare current speech and language PLAAFP and goals for students’ Individual Educational Plans.
Administer appropriate therapy for communication and feeding disorders.
Maintain parent contact and collaborate with classroom teachers and other related service personnel.
Utilize Assistive Technology competencies to improve educational, communicative, or organizational growth.
Recommend referral to and maintain contact with other professionals as necessary (e.g., audiologists, orthodontists, E.N.T. physicians).
Maintain daily pupil contact records.

Hawkswood School runs a 12-month program. The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday. (Mon, Wed, Thu 8:00 AM - 3:15, Tue 8:00 AM - 3:45 PM, Fri 8:00 AM - 2:45 PM)

Hawkswood School offers a competitive annual salary starting at $78,000 per year based on degree and years of experience.
