Steer your love for service, interest in healthcare, and desire for a positive, close-knit workplace into the BEST job, the BEST hours, and the BEST working environment!
The legacy practice of daughter/father duo, “Dr. Faira” and “Dr. Lindsay” of Holliday Dental Associates are seeking another delightful coworker to add their smile and expertise to their group. If you possess the right set of foundation skills, we are willing to provide the education and “on-the-job” training for you to become a highly skilled dental assistant.
What makes Holliday Dental Associates a unique and healthy workplace? It’s the people! We are a close-knit group (2 doctors, 1 front office staff, 2 assistants, and 2 hygienists) that exercise our values of respect, integrity, and everything that comprises teamwork.
Dental Assisting is the perfect “next career step” for individuals who have college studies in a range of topics from Art, Communications, Biology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or other areas that combine enjoying science, people, and working with your hands. If you are an active person (no desk job, please!) who enjoys amazing technology, accomplishing clear and measurable goals, values a stable career and no bureaucratic red-tape culture, likes quick problem solving, meaningful interactions, and documenting details…then, discover a career as a dental assistant with Holliday Dental Associates and never look back!
Can you imagine yourself working as a dental assistant? Common tasks include:
- Greeting and seating patients; conversing and creating meaningful relationships with patients.
- Scribing notes and treatment plans.
- Assisting Dr. Faira during treatment: Suctioning, passing instruments & materials, providing post operative instructions.
- Inventory and ordering of dental supplies.
- Educating patients about treatment, post-operative, and preventive care.
- Preparing & breaking down rooms for procedures and instrument management (from sterilization to restorative set-ups).
- After training, providing expanded duty dental services as governed by the Georgia Board of Dentistry, including taking X-Rays, temporization, and impressions.
- Learning lab procedures that range from communicating with our outside lab, fabricating whitening trays and temporary teeth.
Do you have the foundation criteria we are seeking?
- Excellent writing skills: Candidate must demonstrate excellent sentence structure, spelling, and accurate composition so that clinical notes describing patient services are charted accurately.
- Fast keyboarding and solid computer skills: Do consider yourself “software savvy?”
- Hard wired to be a problem-solver. After training, of course, when an unexpected obstacle happens, do you seek to find a solution? Collaborate with a co-worker? Google to get ideas?
- Customer service skills: Listens well and seeks to make the patient’s appointment even more pleasant than they expected!
- Excellent hand-eye coordination: can you thread a needle, manipulate small items with your hands, at ease with arts and crafts?
- Passionate desire to work in the healthcare field and help others.
- Interest in dental anatomy and biology: Must like teeth!
- Excellent references: Stable, Reliable, Dependable.
- Able-bodied to bend, turn, lean when needed to accommodate the patient’s position. *If you consciously do NOT want a desk job or remote work, you are well-geared for dental assisting.
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or completion of foundation-building college courses are preferred.
We most value “the right person.” Candidates with prior dental experience are certainly welcome to apply, and dental experience is a positive, valuable quality. However, Dr. Faira and Dr. Lindsay most value foundation skills and communication abilities that are not included in the core curriculum of technical training programs. Therefore, interested candidates without prior dental training, but who possess the foundation skills we are seeking are strongly encouraged to apply! After all, with the right foundation, you’ll train so fast…it will make you smile!
