The Prosthodontic dental specialty practice of Dr. Lawrence O. Sims is seeking a full-time clinical staff member to train under our amazing clinicians. Serving patients referred to Dr. Sims by other dentists, dental surgeons, and physicians, the practice has become too busy for our one amazing and talented assistant to manage. Assistant Cynthia is seeking an attentive, dedicated, and professional co-worker who is willing to train in our amazing field of patient care.

For a minute, we’d like to share what we do. Have you ever wondered how patients with facial trauma from oral cancer, birth defects, combat, facial trauma, or auto accidents restore their chewing function and appearance? Or, who helps the patient with such severe bone loss that the jaw can no longer accommodate an implant supported denture? Well, give us a wave! We do. Within Georgia and from surrounding States, the practice of Dr. Lawrence Sims is where patients find solutions to more complex dental problems. By thoughtful coordination of care with dedicated physicians, surgeons and lab technicians, we restore and rebuild lives.

So, can an individual with and without dental experience apply? Of course! Candidates with prior dental experience seeking to acquire knowledge and experience in our small and “in demand” specialty are welcome to apply! But, if you do not have experience and fit our list of qualifications (listed below in this ad), there’s no need to hesitate to apply. We’ll begin your training in instrument management and sterilization. Within weeks, your observant eyes and ears will be picking up information so fast, you’ll soon be pouring models, preparing rooms, and seating patients. Before you know it, Cynthia will teach you how to assist during less complex procedures. Eventually, you’ll assist Cynthia directly during more complex procedures and become certified in how to take dental x-rays. After a few months of experience, you’ll look back at your knowledge and skills in amazement.

Do you match the criteria we are seeking?

Do consider yourself “software savvy?” Fast keyboarding and solid computer skills are a must for our technology-driven profession
Customer service skills: Easily expresses empathy and maintains our classic standards towards healthcare professionalism from presentation to manners of speech
Preference to work in a close-knit, small team setting
Excellent hand-eye coordination: Can you manipulate small items with your hands, enjoy with arts and crafts, or find tasks like threading a needle easy?
Passionate desire to work in the healthcare field and help others
Interest in dental anatomy and biology: Must like teeth!
Excellent references: Stable, reliable, dependable
Able-bodied and eager to sit/walk/lean-in; if you consciously do NOT want a desk job, you are geared to enjoy the workstyle of a dental assistant.
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or completion of foundation-building courses in college are preferred. However, non-college, quality work experiences can also provide an excellent springboard to launch a successful career in clinical dentistry. Surgical techs, vet techs, medical assistants, pharmacy technicians or related professionals often find their rewarding, permanent career positions in dentistry.

Comfortably work Monday – Thursday 7:20 AM – 4:15 PM. Enjoy Fridays off!
