Dental Financial Coordinator

We’re looking to grow our team with a full-time, driven, and detail-oriented dental financial coordinator at our Miller Hill location.
Position Summary:
Dental financial coordinators in our offices serve as the key point of contact between the clinical team, insurance companies, and patients. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental insurance, billing, and collections to ensure all aspects of accounts receivable are managed with precision to maintain our high standard of patient care. Prioritizing a seamless and positive financial experience for every patient, your responsibilities include:
- Collaborate closely with the front office team and clinical providers to ensure accurate and timely communication of treatment plans and financial expectations for patients.
- Provide unparalleled customer service to patients at checkout while collecting copays or estimated patient portions and scheduling treatment to maintain our high standard of care.
- Generate accurate estimates for patients prior to the date of service by utilizing online insurance portals and our practice management software to eliminate financial surprises on all fronts.
- Clearly and proactively communicate estimated financial responsibility to patients in advance of their appointment to ensure they are prepared for payment on the day of service.
- Identify and reduce financial barriers to treatment by compassionately helping patients understand their payment options in accordance with our office policies.
- Manage insurance billing and collections with precision through timely claim submissions, obtaining necessary prior authorizations, and successfully appealing denials to maximize insurance reimbursement.
- Oversee patient billing and collections through consistent and clear communication to ensure patients feel confident and satisfied with their billing experience.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in dental and/or medical billing, insurance coordination, or a similar administrative role is required.
- A team-first attitude with a commitment to providing remarkable patient experiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of dental and/or medical insurance, EOBs, and claim submission processes.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software or electronic medical records software and online insurance portals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial expectations with confidence and compassion.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with professionalism and empathy.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in account management and data entry.
