Starting at 16.00 an hour with no experience, experience pay is higher.
Friday and weekends off. Busy office setting
Monday 8:00-9:00
Tuesday 8:00- 5:30
Wednesday 8:00- 5:30
Thursday 10:00 - 9:00
Fridays off.
- Patient care: Coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, and confirming them according to patient preferences
- Treatment plans: Presenting and explaining treatment plans, and helping patients prioritize their treatment
- Insurance: Verifying dental insurance information, requesting insurance breakdowns, and processing insurance payments
- Patient records: Managing patient records, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and training staff
- Front office duties: Greeting patients, checking them in and out, and answering phone calls
- Financial: Collecting fees and deductibles, evaluating patient accounts, and preparing adjustments
- Communication: Checking emails and voicemails, and responding to them in a timely fashion
- Teamwork: Collaborating with clinical staff and other front office staff, and contributing to a supportive team environment
- End-of-day tasks: Running end-of-day reports and reviewing deposit and day sheet accuracy
- Qualifications
- Dental insurance knowledge: The coordinator should have a strong understanding of dental insurance plans and policies, including coverage, benefits, limitations, and billing practices
- Communication skills: You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, insurance providers, and other members of the dental team, both in person and over the phone
- Attention to detail: You must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Customer service skills: You should have a friendly and approachable demeanor, and be able to provide exceptional customer service to our patients
- Organizational skills: Need to be highly organized, with the ability to maintain accurate records, files, and documentation, and manage the claims process efficiently
- Technology skills: Should be comfortable working with electronic health record systems, dental software, and other technology tools that may be required for the job
- Dental office experience: The coordinator should have experience working in a dental office or healthcare environment, with a good understanding of dental procedures, terminology, and best practices
- Overall, a successful dental insurance coordinator should have a combination of dental knowledge, communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, organizational skills, technology proficiency, and dental office experience to effectively manage insurance claims and support patients’ needs.
