Job Summary:
The Dental Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, managing front office operations, scheduling, billing, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in dental software, have experience with insurance and patient billing, and excel in maintaining schedules for our dentist and hygienist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Scheduling: Manage and maintain accurate appointment schedules for one dentist and one hygienist using dental software, ensuring optimal time management and patient flow.
- Billing and Insurance: Process patient billing, submit insurance claims, verify insurance coverage, and follow up on outstanding claims. Ensure accurate coding and compliance with insurance requirements.
- Administrative Duties: Check patients in and out, collect payments, and update patient records. Maintain organized and confidential patient files.
- Office Coordination: Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations, manage office supplies, and maintain a clean and welcoming front desk area.
- Customer Service: Address patient concerns or questions promptly, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a receptionist or administrative professional, preferably in a dental office.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with dental software along with familiarity with dental terminology is required.
- Billing Expertise: Knowledge of dental insurance billing, including claim submissions, payment posting, and patient invoicing.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-focused attitude.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure a cohesive team environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in dental office administration is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with dental insurance plans and coding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for administrative tasks.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
