Compensation is probably adjusted production, which never seems to pan out to be what you were promised as contracted fees and unexplainable “adjustments” are not discussed until they affect your paycheck. We are currently accepting applications for our next associate dentist to join our team in our Santa Maria and Lompoc locations. Our privately owned group of skilled doctors are as passionate about providing the best clinical care to our patients as they are about improving themselves professionally while enjoying our beautiful Central Coast area.
We aren’t in LA-and we like it that way. Though we are close enough to take a drive or a flight to the big city for the weekend and then return to communities where patients know you by name. Looking to buy a home but can’t swallow the $1.15M+ average mortgage required in larger cities in the state for a fixer upper? You can easily purchase a move in ready home in our area for half that price. Want to live by the water? In the wine country? More suburbia? We have all of those options available.
$150,000 salary sounds really nice initially as does the comfort of remaining on a per diem forever. How comfortable are you with that when you produce 20x that amount for a practice in a day and do not reap any of the financial benefits for your work? We don’t play that way. Our doctors are treated like owners and are compensated accordingly based on a percentage of what they generate. No funny business, no massaging of reports. And as a result, our doctors are making between $230,000-$450,000 annually working 3 1/2 days per week, no nights or weekends, with 4 weeks minimum vacation time while your emergency patients are covered for you. Oh and our “late” day of the week-we end at 5:00 pm. The rest of the week you are out by 4:00 pm and 1:00 on Fridays, if not earlier.
How is mentorship working out for you? Are you only finding out about your mistakes when you have a failure with other doctors who are throwing you under the bus to your patient, hoping to make themselves look better and take the patient from you? Mentorship for us is a verb-it’s something we live out each day as our doctors are collaborating with each other in a safe environment. They freely share information, takeaways from CE courses, and help each other avoid making the same mistakes they have. When everyone individually does better, the whole does better.
