Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant / Front Office Support. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who enjoys contributing to both clinical and administrative operations in a specialty dental practice. This position requires the ability to multitask and “float” to the areas that need support at any given time.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers during procedures by preparing instruments and materials for patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize dental software such as Dentrix Ascend for patient management and record keeping.
- Ensure the dental clinic is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Support the team as needed to enhance efficiency during procedures, aka “runner” for clinical support.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, particularly In implant dentistry
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix or WinOMS is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and support.
Clinical duties:
- Set up instruments and materials for prosthodontic procedures
- Turn over and disinfect treatment rooms after procedures
- Perform sterilization of instruments and ensure OSHA compliance
- Maintain operatory cleanliness and readiness
- Take digital x-rays (if certified)
- Assist the dental specialist as needed
Administrative / front office duties:
- Greet and check-in patients
- Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries
- Scan and file documents into patient records
- Additional administrative tasks as delegated directly by the Treatment Coordinator
Requirements
- Able to work Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Fridays as needed
- Dental assisting experience preferred (prosthodontic or implant dentistry experience a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, professional communication style
- Ability to multitask between clinical and administrative responsibilities
- Current x-ray certification (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend dental software (preferred but not required; we will train)
