Dental Receptionist/Sterilization Technician – Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dependable and organized Dental Receptionist/Sterilization Technician to join our front office team. The Dental Receptionist/Sterilization Technician is a key part of daily operations and serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role is ideal for a strong multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced dental office setting.
Dental Receptionist Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and manage the dental appointment calendar
- Perform patient check-in and check-out while maintaining accurate records
- Process dental insurance information, verify benefits, and assist with insurance claims and billing
- Maintain patient charts and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow
- Handle general administrative and reception duties as needed
Sterilization Technician Responsibilities
- Sterilize dental instruments
- Clean and set up doctor and hygiene rooms
- Seat patients
Dental Receptionist Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and stay organized
- Comfort working with computer systems, electronic health records (EHR), and dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar preferred)
- Dental office, front desk, or dental assisting experience is preferred but not required
