Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that address both immediate concerns and long-term oral health goals.
- Perform various dental procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgeries with precision and care.
- Utilize dental software systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for documentation, scheduling, and medical records management.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists in four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical documentation standards.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology, techniques, and industry best practices through ongoing professional development.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or dental office environment with a focus on general dentistry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric dentistry, including working with pediatric patients and understanding their unique needs.
- Skilled in performing complex procedures such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health care.
- Experience using digital dental imaging systems and managing electronic health records efficiently.
- Knowledge of infection control standards aligned with OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations while providing compassionate care.
