Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canal therapy, extractions, and prosthodontic treatments.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments using dental terminology and medical records to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Utilize dental imaging technology and anatomical knowledge to diagnose oral health issues accurately.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with dental assistants in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Document all patient interactions and procedures meticulously in medical documentation systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and medical records at all times.
- Assist in the fabrication of dental prostheses and restorations as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques to enhance patient outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for medical documentation and record keeping.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical terminology with patients and team members.
- Commitment to infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a fast-paced clinical setting.
