Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. A minimum of three years as a chairside dental assistant is required.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse, as needed.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Conduct infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Perform medical imaging tasks, including X-rays, under the direction of the dentist.
Support various dental specialties such as endodontics and prosthodontics by preparing materials and assisting during procedures.
Educate patients on post-operative care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups to ensure optimal patient flow.

Skills

Proficiency in Open Dental software is preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental records management and documentation practices.
Familiarity with infection control standards and protocols in a dental setting.
Experience with medical imaging techniques is an asset.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
Understanding of dental implants and prosthodontics procedures is advantageous.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
