Responsibilities

Prepare and submit dental insurance claims using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other billing software.
Review patient records to ensure accurate coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes.
Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to procedures to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts, resubmitting or appealing as necessary.
Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
Collaborate with dental providers to clarify documentation requirements and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Skills

Strong knowledge of Dental billing procedures specific to dental practices.
Proficiency with Dentrix in dental offices.
Experience with dental terminology related to dental procedures and treatments.
Ability to interpret and accurately code complex dental records for billing purposes.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, patients, and clinical staff.
Familiarity with Dental collection processes to recover outstanding balances efficiently.
Prior experience in a Dental office setting or dental practice is highly preferred.
