The position of Positioners Dental Lab Tech, will be responsible for Cross-training between a variety of sub-departments within the front-end area of the lab, such as pouring impressions and trimming models for appliance fabrication, as well as repairing, defining, and cut-offs, reinforcing the importance of maintaining strong interpersonal relationships for this position, as they may be asked to move between areas or fabrication processes as needed. This individual will be expected to work safely by following all TPO standard operating procedures, and safety polices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with plaster to fabricate molds of teeth
- Using various tools and equipment to process plaster models for appliance fabrication
- Pouring models (mixing stone/plaster)
- Trimming excess plaster
- Bending wires for appliances, fitting bands, and soldering
- Pouring of acrylic for retainers, etc.
- Trimming of appliances
- Pumicing and polishing
- Out-take (includes cleaning of appliance and bagging)
Knowledge and Skills
- Previous lab experience a plus
- High school diploma or GED
- Good manual dexterity with an affinity for fine detail
- Ability to work independently or with little supervision
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Math, and basic computer skills a plus
