Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Collect payments and perform medical billing and collection tasks with precision and adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, including documentation review and data entry in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally
- Assist with patient intake processes, including updating medical histories and explaining treatment plans
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist with clinic or office experience in a dental setting
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance verification processes
- Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms; familiarity with Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth is highly desirable
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
- Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; fluency in additional languages enhances patient service capabilities
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance in handling medical records and patient information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
