Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Office Administrator with Dental Assisting Experience to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using Dentrix. (Extensive Dentrix Knowledge is a must)
- Schedule appointments, confirm upcoming visits, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow.
- Handle all administrative tasks including verifying patient coverage, and maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
- Manage dental documentation, medical and dental records, and ensure accurate dental coding for billing purposes.
- Assist with dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments following aseptic techniques, and supporting chairside assisting during procedures like X-ray imaging or four-handed dentistry. With this position you must have experience dental assistanting.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure the clinic adheres to OSHA guidelines for safety and hygiene.
- Support clinical staff with vital signs measurement, dental terminology explanations, and basic medical imaging such as 3D scans or X-rays when needed.
- Manage incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries professionally, and provide excellent customer service to foster positive patient relationships.
- Keep the front desk organized by managing supplies, updating appointment schedules in Dentrix, and documenting all interactions accurately.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
- Prior experience in dental assisting with knowledge of chairside assisting techniques including infection control and aseptic methods.
- Trained using Dentrix.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following proper protocols; certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, insurance companies, and vendors.
- Basic understanding of the terminology related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, dental implants, and other specialties is highly desirable.
