Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant with strong familiarity in Eaglesoft practice management software. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office operations. Duties
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring accurate data entry into Eaglesoft and other EHR systems.
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing procedures using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and organized dental records, including documentation review and filing of medical and dental histories.
- Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and follow-up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, explaining treatment plans, and ensuring a welcoming office environment.
- Handle multi-line phone systems, manage appointment reminders, and perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and correspondence.
- Support office management tasks including inventory control, supply ordering, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental or medical front office environment with familiarity in Eaglesoft software; experience with Dentrix is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10), insurance processes, and billing procedures.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Meditech or Athenahealth.
- Demonstrated ability to handle medical collections, documentation review, and insurance verification efficiently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security compliance.
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Exceptional phone etiquette, typing skills (including 10-key), and attention to detail in documentation review.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
