Responsibilities
- General dental procedures, routine and restorative treatments to maintain, restore, and improve oral health. Procedures range from preventative cleanings to fixing decay and repairing
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, performing clinical examinations, and utilizing medical imaging tools.
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to patients and team members.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Maintain precise medical documentation and update electronic health records using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental wellness.
- Follow HIPAA regulations diligently to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with medical documentation standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental office or clinic setting with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with dental software platforms such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, and other advanced procedures confidently.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and techniques for treating young patients is a plus.
- Strong grasp of dental terminology, medical terminology related to oral health, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry.
- Experience practicing infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within a clinical environment.
