Duties
- Greet patients warmly in both English and the second language, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating medical records and documentation review
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare claims submission
- Maintain organized dental and medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech
- Conduct insurance verification and explain treatment plans or financial policies clearly to patients
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation of patient care plans and treatment notes
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred, especially in front desk or administrative roles
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or Athenahealth is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing procedures
- Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid is advantageous
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing speed of at least 10-key for efficient data entry
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (or other relevant languages), with outstanding communication skills in both languages
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient service while managing multiple administrative tasks seamlessly
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times
