Duties

Greet patients warmly in both English and the second language, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression
Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating medical records and documentation review
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally
Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare claims submission
Maintain organized dental and medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech
Conduct insurance verification and explain treatment plans or financial policies clearly to patients
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation of patient care plans and treatment notes

Experience

Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred, especially in front desk or administrative roles
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or Athenahealth is a plus
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing procedures
Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid is advantageous
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing speed of at least 10-key for efficient data entry
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (or other relevant languages), with outstanding communication skills in both languages
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient service while managing multiple administrative tasks seamlessly
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times
