Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate health-conscious Dental Assistant either with front desk cross-training or with the talent and personality to be cross-trained. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while managing front desk operations seamlessly. As a key member of our team, you will support clinical procedures, assist with patient intake, and ensure smooth administrative workflows. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software, ensuring optimal patient flow.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during clinical procedures.
- Assist in patient education and oral-systemic health counseling.
- Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Manage phone systems with warmth and empathy, answer inquiries promptly, and handle appointment rescheduling or cancellations.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, documentation review, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems).
Qualifications
- Proven chair-side experience in a dental clinic environment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as OpenDental, EagleSoft, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience.
