Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead In-House Dental Lab Technician specializing in CAD/CAM technology and ceramics. Duties:
- Lead the design, fabrication, and finishing of dental restorations using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) systems, ensuring accuracy and aesthetic excellence
- Supervise and mentor laboratory technicians in ceramic layering, shading, and glazing techniques to produce natural-looking crowns, bridges, veneers, and implants
- Oversee the integration of digital impressions and medical imaging data into restorative workflows for seamless production
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within the laboratory environment to ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with dentists to review treatment plans, provide technical guidance on complex cases, and ensure restorations meet clinical specifications
- Manage inventory of materials such as ceramics, resins, and other lab supplies while adhering to quality standards
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain detailed medical documentation and records for all cases processed in the lab
Qualifications:
- Extensive laboratory experience in dental fabrication with a strong background in ceramics and digital dentistry technologies
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM systems and related software applications used for designing dental restorations
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and medical imaging techniques essential for accurate case planning
- Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a clinical lab setting
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring a team of dental technicians
- Ability to interpret medical records, medical coding, vital signs, and patient assessment data as needed for case accuracy
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dental professionals and staff
- Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; however, familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic is advantageous
