Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VOB / Authorization Manager to lead our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the authorization and verification processes that ensure seamless reimbursement and compliance for healthcare services. Your expertise will drive efficiency in managing insurance authorizations, medical records, and coding procedures, ultimately supporting our mission to deliver exceptional patient care and operational excellence. Duties

Manage the entire authorization process, including obtaining prior approvals from managed care organizations and insurance providers
Oversee verification of patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using medical records and insurance portals
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all authorization activities
Review and process medical documentation, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding for accurate billing and reimbursement
Collaborate with medical offices, dental practices, and other healthcare providers to facilitate smooth communication regarding authorizations and medical records
Monitor the status of pending authorizations, follow up proactively to prevent delays in patient care or billing cycles
Maintain detailed records of all authorization activities, insurance verifications, and correspondence for audit readiness
Train and support staff on best practices in managed care procedures, medical terminology, and insurance verification protocols

Experience

Proven experience managing authorization processes within a healthcare revenue cycle environment
Strong knowledge of managed care policies, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and medical terminology
Familiarity with medical office operations, including medical records management and office experience in healthcare settings
Experience working with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
Prior involvement in insurance verification processes across various insurance plans including managed care organizations
Dental office experience is a plus but not required; a background in medical office environments is essential
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
