Join our dynamic dental practice as a Dental Front Office Receptionist, working on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification, and handle insurance claims processing.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately.
- Collect payments and perform medical collections while maintaining detailed documentation review for billing accuracy.
- Maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper filing of patient documents.
- Assist with intake procedures, including updating patient information and explaining treatment plans when necessary.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk running smoothly.
Skills
- Proven experience in medical administrative support within a dental or medical clinic environment.
- Strong knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech; familiarity with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing).
- In-depth understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and handle Medicare or Medicaid claims when applicable.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are highly valued.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience with dental terminology and dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred.
