For more than 40 years, Dr. William Hummer has provided personalized, relationship-centered dental care to families throughout San Leandro and the East Bay. Our practice is built on a simple philosophy: take great care of people, and everything else follows.
Many of our patients have been with us for years—even decades—and we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, friendly environment where patients feel like family. We are seeking a warm, organized, and dependable Front Desk Coordinator to become an important part of our team.
We are open to hiring either:
- An experienced Dental Receptionist or Front Desk Coordinator
- A highly motivated candidate with strong administrative or customer service experience who is eager to learn
- An experienced Office Manager who can take on additional leadership responsibilities

Position Overview
The front desk team member is often the first person our patients interact with and plays a vital role in creating an exceptional patient experience. You will help patients feel welcome, supported, and cared for from the moment they call or walk through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
- Manage the daily schedule and help optimize patient flow
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Explain treatment estimates and financial arrangements
- Collect patient payments and process transactions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Confirm appointments and manage recall systems
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointments and treatment needs
- Support the clinical team to ensure smooth office operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Dental front office experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of dental insurance verification and billing is a strong plus
- Spanish-speaking candidates strongly encouraged to apply
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Accounts receivable experience
