Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dental Front Office Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in dental/medical office administration, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills, professionalism, and a strong commitment to patient service. In this role, you will manage patient scheduling and provide vital administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our practice’s efficiency and patient satisfaction.
This position will be Monday-Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm, with an occasional Friday (we ARE open Friday's).
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice.
- Manage appointment scheduling using dental-specific software (Curve), coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation review standards.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with intake procedures, patient registration, and data entry.
- Support clinic operations by updating insurance, processing payments, and managing appointment reminders.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns promptly while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Keeping the schedule full by filling in cancellations.
- Help with ordering supplies for both the back and front office.
- Dispatch referrals and lab work appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or front office administrative support within a dental/medical clinic environment.
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PDF).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for engaging with patients and healthcare providers alike.
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
