Multi-Practice Operations Manager (Dental)

Confidential • Full-time • San Francisco, California, United States • $85k - $100k / year • 2m ago

Overview

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Multi-Practice Operations Manager to lead and streamline operations across two established private dental practices in San Francisco. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on structure, systems, and people — overseeing daily clinic functions, managing teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving performance across both locations. This role includes a competitive base salary plus a performance bonus tied to overall practice performance.

This is a unique opportunity for an operations leader who wants real ownership over business outcomes, reporting directly to ownership. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in dental or healthcare practice management, team supervision, and a genuine passion for operational excellence and exceptional patient care.

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000/year base salary, plus performance-based bonus

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across both dental practice locations, ensuring smooth clinical and administrative workflows and high-quality patient experiences
Manage and supervise staff including administrative personnel, dental assistants, associate dentists and hygienists, promoting team development and engagement
Manage payroll processing and reconciliation across both practices
Lead HR functions including hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, staff scheduling, and workers' compensation compliance/audits
Implement and monitor compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and California-specific health and labor policies
Oversee practice management software to maintain accurate patient records, billing, and scheduling consistency across both sites
Support fiscal management activities including budgeting, financial reporting, expense tracking, and cost control to maximize practice profitability
Standardize and improve operational policies and procedures across both locations
Manage vendor relationships, supply ordering, and equipment/facilities coordination
Develop strategies to improve patient retention, service quality, and operational efficiency across all locations
Coach and support front-office and clinical team leads at each practice

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in operations or practice management, ideally in a dental or healthcare setting
Experience managing payroll, HR compliance, or multi-location operations strongly preferred
Proficiency with dental practice management software
Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams across multiple sites
Excellent fiscal management skills, including budgeting and financial analysis
Exceptional communication and leadership skills; able to build trust with both clinical and administrative staff
Strong organizational and project management skills — comfortable juggling priorities across two sites
Discretion and professionalism handling sensitive business, financial, and HR information
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience
