About us
Ramin Homanfar, D.D.S. is a biological family dental office in Reno. We focus on whole-body health, biocompatible materials, and gentle, conservative care, along with sleep and airway dentistry. Our team is small, close-knit, and cross-trained. We're looking for an experienced lead assistant who takes pride in running a clean, organized, calm clinical side.
Schedule (no weekends, no evenings past 6)
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:30 – 5:00 pm
- Wednesday: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm (no lunch)
- Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
What you'll do
- Lead the clinical team. Keep the day on time, set the standard for other assistants, and help train new team members.
- Assist chairside on all procedures, including surgery: extractions, implants, bone grafting, and PRF.
- Take x-rays, panoramic, and 3D cone beam (CBCT) images.
- Take digital scans and impressions; make temporaries.
- Write clinical notes and enter treatment plans in Dentrix the same day.
- Keep operatories stocked, check expiration dates weekly, and run monthly inventory and ordering.
- Run sterilization: instrument processing, weekly spore testing, waterlines, and OSHA logs.
- Handle lab work and case tracking.
- Help the front office with phones, scheduling, confirmations, and patient follow-up calls.
What you need
- 2+ years as a dental assistant (required)
- Surgical assisting experience (required)
- Dentrix experience (required)
- Current CPR/BLS
- Strong infection control knowledge (OSHA, CDC)
- Calm, organized, and a natural leader who stays steady on busy days
Nice to have
- Sleep appliance or airway experience
- EFDA or DANB certification
