Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems).
Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
Monitor and review medical records for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control procedures and managing dental instruments appropriately.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as documentation review, medical coding, and updating dental terminology in records.

Skills

Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings is highly desirable.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, especially pediatrics.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dental practice.
