Job Summary
Private general practice in Callahan, FL seeking an experienced certified dental assistant for head position. Mon-Thurs, 8+ hours per day. Ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of clinical experience, be familiar with digital radiography and be competent with electronic practice management software. Radiology certificate a must. Familiarity with restorative, crown & bridge, prosthetics and oral surgery required. Compensation commensurate with experience

Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available.
Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate medical records for patients, including updating treatment plans and patient histories.
Occasional management of appointment scheduling using dental software.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in the dental office.
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including managing inventory of dental supplies.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential.
Familiarity with electronic patient records is highly desirable.
Experience with medical imaging techniques is preferred.
Experience with intra-oral and extra-oral digital dental imaging is a plus.
Attention to detail in maintaining and interpreting dental records.
Ability to apply aseptic techniques effectively in a clinical setting.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with patients and team members.
A valid certification or diploma in Dental Assisting is mandatory.
