Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort.
Take and develop medical images such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state requirements.
Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation review.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively.
