Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our dental practice, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with dental terminology and office procedures.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively.
- Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with excellent phone etiquette.
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform medical billing, coding, and documentation review using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to facilitate smooth communication within the office.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and patient waiting room.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical billing practices.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing skills (10 key typing) are essential.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.

- Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and record management efficiently.
- Knowledge of health information management principles and medical office management practices is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 35 per week
