We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, as well as proficiency in various dental systems and technologies. Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist in the creation of orthodontic appliances.
- Manage patient records accurately using systems such as Dentrix and Epic, ensuring all medical records are up-to-date.
- Perform X-ray imaging as required, following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Support four-handed dentistry by anticipating the needs of the orthodontist during procedures.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with a focus on orthodontics being a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using 3D scanners and performing X-ray imaging is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are essential for success in this role.
