- Act as the primary point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service via phone, email, and in person with professional phone etiquette and a welcoming demeanor
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility, to facilitate accurate treatment planning and billing
- Review and process dental documentation including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding standards
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently; coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow
- Assist patients with understanding their treatment plans, insurance options, and financial responsibilities; explain procedures using dental terminology clearly and compassionately
- Manage medical billing processes including collection of payments, insurance claims submission, follow-up on unpaid claims, and reconciliation of accounts using Meditech or similar billing software
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and correctness; ensure all files are organized in compliance with health information management standards
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology
- Proven ability to verify insurance benefits accurately through platforms like Medicare or private insurers; familiarity with insurance verification processes is essential
- Prior clinic or dental office experience demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations, medical administrative support, and office management procedures
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), multi-line phone systems, filing systems, and health information management software opendental
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling appointments, managing patient intake forms, handling medical records securely, and supporting overall office efficiency
