Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various treatments by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear field of operation through chairside assisting.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection control standards.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures when necessary, especially in cases involving medical history documentation or complex treatments like prosthodontics or endodontics.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries as a dental receptionist, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality.
- Competence in chairside assisting across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices for accurate record keeping.

- Dental office is located south of Atlanta, GA in Stockbridge GA. We work 3 days per week-
- Mondays 9-7
- Wednesdays 8-6
- Thursdays 9-7
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
