POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Invisalign is an administrative leadership role responsible for the growth and operational success of the practice's clear aligner program. This position manages the full administrative patient journey — from initial inquiry and consultation scheduling through case acceptance, record coordination, and follow-up. The Director coaches the front-office team, monitors program KPIs, and partners with Align Technology to maximize tier attainment and program results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Own Invisalign program goals including annual volume targets, tier attainment, and revenue benchmarks.
- Develop and execute marketing and internal-referral strategies to grow the clear aligner patient pipeline.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Align Technology for co-marketing funds, program updates, and promotional resources.
Consultation & Case Acceptance
- Schedule and coordinate all Invisalign consultations, ensuring a consistent and welcoming patient experience.
- Identify and follow up with internal candidates through proactive recall outreach and targeted communication.
- Collaborate with the Treatment Coordinator to achieve case acceptance targets and streamline financial arrangements.
- Maintain consultation workflows, patient education materials, and follow-up communication templates.
iTero Scan Coordination
- Coordinate patient scheduling to ensure iTero scans are completed at hygiene and recall appointments for eligible candidates.
- Liaise with the clinical team to ensure ClinCheck outcome simulations are communicated to patients promptly.
- Track scan volume, scan-to-consultation, and scan-to-start conversion rates; report to leadership monthly.
Internal Smile Survey Program
- Manage the Internal Smile Survey program to identify existing patients interested in clear aligner treatment.
- Train the front desk team to administer surveys at new-patient and recall appointments.
- Track distribution rates, response rates, and conversion to consultation; use data to drive personalized follow-up.
Reporting & Team Development
- Prepare a monthly KPI dashboard covering consultations, starts, case acceptance, scans, and smile survey results.
- Coach front-office staff on Invisalign program knowledge, patient communication, and case identification.
- Maintain accurate records in practice management software and the Invisalign Doctor Site (IDS).
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 2+ years in an orthodontic, dental, or healthcare administrative or treatment coordination role.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate consultations and support case acceptance processes.
- Familiarity with iTero scanning workflows and Invisalign program administration.
- Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills.
Preferred
- Experience with a high-volume Invisalign practice (Platinum/Diamond-tier).
- Background in treatment coordination, dental front-office management, or healthcare sales support.
- Familiarity with practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Dolphin, etc.) and the Invisalign Doctor Site.
