ABOUT THE ROLE:

Under the direction of the dentist, this position promotes dental health by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Provide patient screening to assess oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection.
Record information on dental chart.
Take vital signs and record on chart.
Take and develop dental radiographs
Remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth.
Apply sealants and fluoride treatments.
Instruct patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Licensed by the Vermont Board of Dentistry.
At least 3 years of dental hygienist experience is preferred.
Must be able to perform complex dental procedures.

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 Sign-On Bonus - $5,000 at 1 year anniversary, $5,000 at 2 year anniversary, $5,000 at 3 year anniversary.

Pay: $39.92 - $60.32 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
