Digital Dental Lab Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Digital Workflow: Oversee and optimize the digital processes used in the dental lab, including CAD/CAM, Digital Design, 3D printing, and milling technologies
- Staff Supervision: Lead, train, and manage a team of digital technicians, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills, tools, and training to produce high-quality dental prosthetics.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all digital designs and final products meet the clinic’s standards for accuracy, aesthetics, and functionality. Conduct regular quality checks and troubleshooting.
- Technology Management: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot digital equipment such as 3D printers, scanners, milling machines, and other lab technologies. Stay up to date on the latest technological advancements in digital dentistry.
- Patient and Provider Interaction: Work closely with dentists and dental professionals to understand their needs and ensure digital solutions are aligned with patient requirements. Handle technical inquiries and resolve any issues that arise.
Digital Dental Lab Manager Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management skills. Must be comfortable managing a team of up to 8 techs.
- Proficient in using digital design software (specifically Exocad, 3Shape).
- Familiarity with digital dental equipment (e.g., milling machines, 3D printers, scanners).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Implant manufacturer knowledge and understanding of different platforms and scan bodies.
- Ability and willingness to work chairside with our dentists to optimize the precision, aesthetics, and fit of complex, high-stakes restorations.
Digital Dental Lab Manager Qualifications:
- 7+ years of dental laboratory experience
- CDT Certification Preferred
