Opportunity
Kokua Smiles is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee day-to-day operational execution across our dental practices on Oahu. This is a multi-site leadership position responsible for supporting Practice Managers, improving operational and financial performance, and ensuring consistent execution throughout the organization.
This role reports directly to and is supervised by the Regional Manager. It is not a Regional Director position and does not operate parallel to or above the Regional Manager.
About the Role
The General Manager will maintain a strong, hands-on presence within our practices and work closely with the Regional Manager, Practice Managers, doctors, and support teams.
This individual will help build high-performing practices by developing team members, strengthening accountability, improving operational systems, and driving sustainable financial growth while preserving the culture of each office.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational execution across multiple Kokua Smiles practices on Oahu.
- Report directly to the Regional Manager and execute established organizational priorities.
- Support, coach, and develop Practice Managers and future leaders.
- Maintain a consistent in-person presence across practice locations.
- Improve production, collections, profitability, and overall operational efficiency.
- Monitor operational and financial performance, including EBITDA.
- Analyze key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve results.
- Partner with Practice Managers to strengthen accountability and follow-through.
- Standardize operational best practices while respecting the culture of each practice.
- Collaborate with doctors and practice teams to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
- Support provider onboarding and day-to-day operational readiness.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify operational challenges and work with the Regional Manager to implement effective solutions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of experience leading multi-site DENTAL operations.
- Three or more years of experience directly leading and developing managers.
- Strong financial and operational knowledge, including experience with EBITDA, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Demonstrated success improving key performance indicators and organizational performance.
- Dental industry experience is mandatory
- Experience with Open Dental is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic responsibilities with hands-on operational execution.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Kokua Smiles practice locations throughout Oahu.
